Websites for builders
Websites for builders
Building work is the biggest purchase most of your customers will make after the house itself. They research for weeks. The site has to hold up to that scrutiny and then make the first conversation easy.
An extension customer will look at your site five or six times before they get in touch. They want to see finished projects like theirs, understand your process, know you are insured and registered, and get a feel for cost without being pinned to a number. A one-page site with a phone number loses them at the first visit.
We build a page per project type, extensions, lofts, refurbishments, kitchens and bathrooms, garden rooms, new builds, each with a gallery of your own work captioned by area, a plain description of how the job runs from first visit to snagging, and an enquiry form that asks the right questions. Trade-partner and commercial routes get their own pages.
What your customers type
- builders [town]
- extension builder near me
- loft conversion cost
- house renovation company [town]
- garden room builder
- building contractors
What we usually find on builders' sites
- Galleries full of unlabelled photos, so nobody, including Google, knows what the project was.
- No process page, so the customer has to ring to find out how it works, and most will not.
- Insurance and memberships missing, which matters more in building than in any other trade.
From the sites we see when a building company asks us for a check.
What the site must do
Five things a builder's website has to get right
A page per project type
Extensions, lofts, full refurbishments, kitchens, bathrooms, garden rooms, new builds, commercial. Each is a different search and a different customer.
Project galleries with the story
Before, during and after, with the area, the brief and the timescale. Case-study pages for your best jobs.
Process explained step by step
Site visit, drawings, planning, quote, schedule, build, snagging. Customers fear the unknown more than the price.
Accreditations and insurance
FMB, TrustMark, insurance levels, guarantees. Linked where they can be verified.
An enquiry form that respects the budget question
Project type, property, timescale, a budget band rather than a number, and whether drawings exist. Sent tidy, answered fast.
Pages we build
A page for every job you want more of
Each of these is a separate search and a separate customer, so each gets its own page, written for it, with its own call, WhatsApp and form.
- House extensions
- Loft conversions
- Full refurbishments
- Kitchens and bathrooms
- Garden rooms and outbuildings
- New builds
- Commercial building work
- Project case studies
- Area pages for every town you cover
How it will look on a phone
Call, WhatsApp and a form, in the first screen
Every page, every screen size. The sticky bar at the bottom follows the visitor down the page, and the WhatsApp message is already written for the job they were reading about.
Questions builders ask us
Can we show project case studies?
Yes, and you should. Each case study is a page: the brief, the challenges, the timescale, the photos. They rank well and they are what customers read before they ring.
Should we show prices for extensions?
A broad "from" band per project type usually helps, because it ranks for "cost" searches and sets expectations. We decide it with you.
We get a lot of work from architects. Is that worth a page?
Yes. A page written for architects and designers, about how you work with drawings and programmes, is one of the most valuable pages a builder can have.
How long does the site take?
Three to four weeks for a builder, because there are more pages and more photos. Faster if the photos are ready.
