Websites for restaurants and cafes
Websites for restaurants and cafes
People open a restaurant website for four things: the menu, the hours, how to book, and where you are. If any of those takes more than two taps on a phone, they go to the next place on the map.
Most restaurant websites are a slideshow and a PDF menu. The slideshow loads slowly, the PDF cannot be read by Google or by a phone, and the booking link goes somewhere else entirely. Meanwhile the map listing next to you has the hours, the menu and a book button right there.
We build the menu as a real page, with dishes, prices, allergens and dietary tags that Google can read and that a phone can scroll. Bookings and orders connect to whatever system you use, or to WhatsApp if you prefer. Hours, directions, parking and the Google listing are all kept in step so the information is the same everywhere.
What your customers type
- restaurants near me
- [cuisine] restaurant [town]
- book a table [town]
- cafe near me open now
- takeaway [town]
- sunday roast [town]
What we usually find on restaurants and cafes' sites
- Menus as PDFs or images, invisible to Google and painful on a phone.
- Opening hours on the site that disagree with the Google listing, which costs covers every week.
- Booking buttons that open a third-party page with no mention of the restaurant.
From the sites we see when a restaurant or cafe asks us for a check.
What the site must do
Five things a restaurant's website has to get right
A menu that is a page, not a PDF
Dishes, prices, allergens, vegan and gluten-free tags, photos of real dishes. Readable by Google, scrollable on a phone, easy to update.
Book and order in two taps
Connected to your booking or ordering system, or to WhatsApp and the phone. Visible on every page, every screen size.
Hours, location and parking first
Opening times with holidays, directions, nearest parking and transport. Matched to the Google listing so there is no contradiction.
Events, groups and private hire
Separate pages for Christmas, set menus, private dining and group bookings, each with its own enquiry form.
Reviews and photos that are yours
Real dishes, the real room, real reviews quoted with source. No stock food photography.
Pages we build
A page for every job you want more of
Each of these is a separate search and a separate customer, so each gets its own page, written for it, with its own call, WhatsApp and form.
- Menu
- Book a table
- Order takeaway or delivery
- Private dining and events
- Christmas and seasonal menus
- Find us, hours and parking
- Our story
- Gift vouchers
How it will look on a phone
Call, WhatsApp and a form, in the first screen
Every page, every screen size. The sticky bar at the bottom follows the visitor down the page, and the WhatsApp message is already written for the job they were reading about.
Questions restaurants and cafes ask us
Can we update the menu ourselves?
You send changes on WhatsApp or email and they are live the same working day. If you change menus often, we can give you a simple editor.
Do you connect to our booking system?
Yes, to ResDiary, OpenTable, SevenRooms, Quandoo and most others, or to a simple form and WhatsApp if you take bookings by hand.
What about delivery apps?
We link to them if you use them, and we build a direct-order route so you are not paying commission on customers who came from your own site.
Can you make us appear on the map?
A website on its own does not, but we set the site and your Google listing up to agree with each other, which is what the map ranking depends on.
